Participate in tournaments as required by the school. This was a project for our BA to get us to enter more competitions.

This competition requires us to choose a brand from the brief given in the competition and then design according to the brief given by the brand. But in this project, our teacher gave us the extra requirement of including animals or plants in each illustration.

BA Graduation Design

This is an animated film based on the mythological Medea. I have researched the period setting of the myth and the animation adaptation of the myth for my thesis. The webpage shows five illustrations from the animation screenshots. The first picture depicts Medea running away with Iason. At this point she has a smile on her face oblivious to the tragedy that lies ahead of her. The cloak is placed over her head, adding to the overall feeling of elopement and hiding. They are leaning forward as a walking motion. Because of the characteristics of the ancient Greek dress, even though she is wearing a long dress, she still has to outline her figure underneath the skirt and the dress that is floating up. And Iason's costume is the ancient Greek men's armour and other clothing. I set Iason up as a standard Europa race, who have darker skin tones and hair colours, and generally fit the depiction of an ancient Greek male. And that's the Golden Fleece he's carrying on his shoulders. The time is night, and there are dark weeds in front of him, and behind him the sparkling dark tides of the sea in the darkness of the night, but the soft moonlight neutralises this treacherous atmosphere. At the same time, the flickering light of the fireflies and the moonlight make the picture a touch romantic. At the same time, it also represents Medea's state of mind as a young girl.
